It’s been a while since our award-winning Alston Burger graced the menu, you’d have to go back to the pre-Covid years to find it. Since then, we’ve focused on perfecting our steaks, but with so many fond memories (and a few persistent requests!), we’ve decided it’s time to bring back a true Alston classic.
Back in 2015, our burger was crowned Scotland’s Best Burger at the Entertainment Awards, and ten years later, it’s returning in all its glory. Topped with spiced pulled pork, Swiss cheese and truffle mayonnaise, and served with fries and our signature neep remoulade, it’s a combination that’s impossible to forget.
Our chefs start with freshly ground, grass-fed beef from the Borders, aged Scotch for depth of flavour and blended with around 20% fat for that perfect juicy texture. Each patty is hand-shaped from prime cuts of chuck and brisket, seasoned simply with salt and pepper, then cooked on our Montague grill to achieve that rich, smoky crust.
Finished with melted Swiss cheese, a touch of truffle mayo, and nestled in a fresh, soft bap , this is a comeback worth celebrating.
